UNDAC Guidance Notes
The UNDAC Policy & Guidance Notes provide a structured and accessible overview of the key principles, roles, and operational arrangements underpinning the UNDAC system. Their purpose is to clarify both the foundations and the operational expectations of international emergency response, in line with the mandate of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
The collection is composed of several concise guidance notes, each addressing a core component of the UNDAC system, you can also find their respective French translation:
UNDAC Concept Note: outlining the purpose, structure, and operational approach of the UNDAC mechanism. [French Translation]
Terms of Reference for National and Operational Focal Points: defining the responsibilities and expected contributions of the national and operational interfaces that support the system. [French Translation]
Responsibilities of Organizations: clarifying the roles of participating agencies and entities within UNDAC operations. [French Translation]
Responsibilities of Governments: detailing the commitments and coordination responsibilities of affected and requesting states. [French Translation]
