IMAC is multi-stakeholder initiative including UN and non-UN partners. The purpose of IMAC is to provide remote information management and analysis support to sudden-onset large scale emergencies including:
Map and analyze existing secondary and primary data from operations and publicly available sources.
Align humanitarian population figures and geographic data (per IASC Common Operational Dataset Guidance)
Showcase information and analysis initiatives from any actor at global or regional level to generate opportunities for others to align.
So far, IMAC has been activated twice; during COVID in 25 priority countries (OCHA, UNHCR< WHO) and in Ukraine (OCHA, UNHCR).

Provide support to IASC decision-makers at headquarters (EDGs and IA Ops Cell) and regional levels, as well as the Regional Refugee Coordinator
Promote information management and analysis alignment between two coordination structures (UNHCR leading in countries receiving refugees and OCHA in Ukraine)
