As part of its mandate, OCHA responds to a wide range of humanitarian crisis through its five core functions in different parts of the world.
Information management is one of these core functions. OCHA provides information management services to the humanitarian community to inform a rapid, effective and principled response.
In any humanitarian emergency, IMOs are expected to provide reliable information on the locations of those affected, what they urgently need, who is best placed to assist them.
Process
All humanitarian responses, regardless of the specifics, should have basic IM products and process in place:
